The future of corporate safety

With over 27 years of combined experience as a Naval Combat Medic (FMF Corpsman), Occupational Medicine Clinic Manager, Medical Sciences Instructor, HSE Professional, and Corporate Security Officer, I’ve developed a deep, practical understanding of health and safety from the ground up.

In 2016, as the oil and gas industry contracted, I recognized a gap: many small businesses couldn’t justify the cost of a full-time safety manager. So I built a streamlined, automated system to help organizations manage safety training and compliance efficiently—keeping employees protected and costs down. Whether used to enhance an existing program or serve as a turnkey solution, this system simplifies safety without compromising standards.

Jodie W. Bland, Jr. holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and is a Board-Certified Safety Management Professional (SMP) through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, and is a credentialed Master Safety Professional (MSP) as designated by the National Association of Safety Professionals certification board.

He also holds a professional certificate in International Safety Management (ISM Code) as an Internal ISM Auditor, and is a Certified Allied Health Instructor, Level 3 CPR/FA/AED Instructor Trainer, and an Independent Training Center Director with the American Health & Safety Institute.

His compliance and executive-level safety experience spans a wide range of industries: maritime, offshore and inland oil & gas, automation and industrial integration, shipyards, ports, DOT/USCG transportation, PHMSA pipeline, MSHA mining, heavy equipment service, telecom, construction, chemical plants, machine shops, general office and site safety, as well as third-party compliance management (ISNetworld, Avetta, DISA, etc.).

Jodie is an active member of the American Society of Safety Professionals and a former committee member of the USCG District 8 Homeland Security Advisory Committee and the Offshore Marine Services Association (OMSA).

Jodie has over 400 Occupational Safety & Health continuing education hours which has earned him multiple Professional Certificates in Health and Safety from OSHAcademy. Including the distinguished Occupational Safety & Health Professional, Occupational Safety & Health Specialist, and Occupational Safety & Health Manager Professional Certificates.

He is a current member of the American Society of Safety Professionals and a previous committee member of the USCG District 8 Homeland Security Advisory Committee and the Offshore Marine Services Association, OMSA.
